The Chocolate Wine Trail this past weekend, February 21 & 22 was a huge success once again! The weather forecast changed and we were one happy wine trail!
The wineries out did themselves this year, serving creative chocolate creations and wine pairings that our visitors thoroughly enjoyed! Here are the highlights from the weekend:
- Adam Puchta Winery
Served Chocolate Love Nest Candy and paired it with their Signature Port Cocktail that was to die for! Flavors of dark chocolate and hazelnut were amazing paired with the sweet berry flavors of this yummy cocktail! Get Recipe Here
- Bias Winery
Served Chocolate Lasagna paired with Strawberry Sparkling Punch that was definitely a hit! Oreo cookie crust, layered with cream cheese filling, then chocolate pudding sprinkled with mini chocolate chips and shaved white chocolate. Mmmmmm. Get Recipe Here
- Dierberg Star Lane
Served a Salted Caramel and Chocolate Tartlet paired with Chardonnay, which proved a rich dry white wine can pair successfully with chocolate. The salty caramel and rich chocolate paired amazingly well will the butteriness of the Chardonnay. Recipe coming soon!
- Hermannhof Winery
Served a White Chocolate Raspberry Muffin paired with their new Raspberry Rapture which was a stunning match. The chunks of sweet raspberries in the muffin intensified the Raspberry flavors of the wine for a match made in heaven. Recipe coming soon!

Served Chocolate-Kahlua Pound Cake paired with Riverview Red that was scrumptious! The sweet cinnamon flavors of Riverview Red were a nice complement to the chocolate and coffee flavors of the rich, moist cake. Recipe coming soon!
- Röbller Winery
Served Mousse Cannoli paired with Villa Rouge for a Italian dessert stunner. The buttery flavor of the cannoli stuffed with the rich chocolate mouse was well matched with the subtle fruitiness of the Chambourcin flavors in the Villa Rouge. Recipe coming soon!
