Served at the 2014 Chocolate Wine Trail


1 cup sugar

1/2 cup cocoa powder

1/4 cup cornstarch

1/2 tsp salt

4 cups milk

2 tsps instant coffee

2 Tbsp butter

2 tsps vanilla extract

Whipped cream

Chocolate sprinkles for garnish

In heavy saucepan, combine sugar, cocoa powder, cornstarch and salt.  Gradually add milk and instant coffee.  Bring to a boil over medium heat, boil and stir for 2 minutes.  Remove from heat, stir in butter and vanilla.  Cool for 30 minutes.  Spoon into individual serving dishes.  Chill until served.  Garnish with whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles.  Yield:  6-8 servings
