Served at the 2021 Chocolate Wine Trail, Curling Vine Winery
Brownie Base:
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
4 eggs, beaten
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup flour
1 cup Hershey’s chocolate syrup
Mix together and pour into a greased 9×11 baking dish. Bake for 30 minutes at 350°F. Cool.
Layer 1 – Frosting
2 cups powdered sugar
1/2 cup butter, softened to room temperature
2 tbsp Maraschino cherry juice and 5-6 cherries (add more or less depending on how many chunks you prefer)
Blend together until smooth, thick and creamy. Spread onto cooled brownie layer. chill in the refrigerator. *Substitute defrosted dark cherries for a darker pink layer.
Layer 2 – Chocolate
6 tbsp butter
1 cup chocolate chips
Melt for one minute in a microwave oven and still until smooth. Cool slightly.
Spread the chocolate layer over the frosting layer for a thin layer. Refrigerate until chilled.
Cut off the brownie around the edges of the pan and slice into 1″ to 1 1/2″ pieces.
Serve with Well Deserved Red.
