Served at the 2024 Farmers’ Table Wine Trail, Hermannhof Winery


1 1/2 lb. ground beef
1 TBSP Dijon or yellow mustard
1 TBSP Worcestershire Sauce
1 egg
3 TBSP sweet or dill pickle relish
1 envelope Lipton Onion Soup mix
1/2 cup regualr or seasoned bread crumbs
3 TBSP ketchup
2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese


  • Preheat oven to 400°F
  • Add all meatball ingredients to a large bowl and mix together well.
  • Roll into meatballs roughly the size of a golf ball. You can use a 1 1/2 tablespoon scoop to help make them all the same size.
  • Place the meatballs on a parchment lined baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes.
  • Serve with Awesome Sauce for dipping. Serves 10

Awesome Sauce:
1 cup mayonaise
1/4 tsp seasoned salt
2 TBSP minced chives
2 TBSP spicy brown mustard
1/4 tsp paprika
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
1 TBSP Worcestershire Sauce
1/2 cup butter, melted and cooled
1 TBSP soy sauce
1 TBSP crushed garlic


  • Combine all ingredients in a bowl and whisk together well.
  • Cover and refrigerate for one hour to let the flavors blend if you can wait.

Serve with Hermannhof Winery Chambourcin.
