Wild Bacon Wine Trail

Do you like Bacon?  There is nothing that quite compares to the smell of sizzling bacon in a frying pan.  If you are a bacon fan, the Wild Bacon Wine Trail May 2 & 3 is the place for you!  The Hermann Wine Trail has selected Bacon as the featured ingredient in our next popular wine and food pairing events.

When we first called the event, Wild Bacon Wine Trail, ticket sales soared!  We almost sold out the event last year so we anticipate the event selling out this year.  Bacon is a universally worshiped food, and in our book, the bomb.  Right up there with chocolate.

The Hermann Wine Trail wineries have once again created some savory and delicious food pairings to complement their wines.  They spend hours in their kitchens, frying bacon and trying new recipes to come up with just the right match for their wines.  Tasting bacon dishes and sipping wine in Hermann Wine Country.  It’s a tough job but someone has to do it.

Here’s the 2015 Wild Bacon Wine Trail menu:

  • Adam Puchta
Grilled Bacon-Cheddar Bratwurst, paired with Save a Rack wines
  • Bias
Garden Fresh BLT Salad, paired with Jubilee White
  • Dierberg Star Lane
Arugula, Bacon, and Gruyere Bread Pudding, paired with Sauvignon Blanc
  • Hermannhof
Hot Bacon and Swiss Dip on Crostini, paired with Chambourcin Vin Gris
  • OakGlenn
Bacon Super Bowls, paired with Strawberry Wine
  • Röbller
    Bacon Frittata, paired with Traminette
  • Stone Hill
Applewood Smoked Bacon Jam on Homemade Foccacia with Crumbled Goat Cheese and Local Microgreens, paired with Steinberg White

The wineries all provide recipes, which will be posted on our website in the weeks following the event. See our recipe collection here

If you are planning on attending, we encourage you to purchase your tickets soon.  Tickets: $30 per person.  Call the Hermann Welcome Center or purchase on-line here

Be sure to spend time in Hermann too and enjoy our many shops and restaurants.  We also have a couple of breweries, one which is at Bias Winery and the other is part of Hermannhof Winery.  See More Hermann Info Here
