Wine Glass at Christmas

Merry Christmas from the Hermann Wine Trail!

The Christmas holidays are upon us and you may still have shopping to do for family and friends.  We suggest not giving sweaters that don’t fit or appliances they don’t need and give the gift of wine.  Make that gift super special and give a bottle of local wine!

The Hermann Wine Trail has some great options for wine gifts.  Our wineries produce traditional varieties and some produce non-traditional varieties that are suited to the growing conditions in our Hermann region.  If you aren’t familiar with our wines, make a trip out to Hermann and sample what we have to offer.  You won’t be disappointed, since most wineries offer many wines to sample.

Wines the Hermann wine region is well known for are: robust Norton, earthy Chambourcin, fruity Chardonel, fruity Seyval, crisp Vidal Blanc, luscious Vignoles, fruity, sweet Concord and Catawba.  Our Hermann wineries also offer dessert wines such as cream sherry and port; sparkling wines, fruit wines and flavored wines.

Here are a few of our favorites from the Hermann Wine Trail:

Adam Puchta Winery –  Dry Rose’, Dry Brut (make sure you have a bottle of bubbly around for New Year’s!), Mead and Vignoles.

Bias Winery and Gruhlke’s Microbrewery– Norton, Norma’s Best, and Raspberry Weisser Flieder.  Bias also has some great microbrews!

Dierberg Star Lane -Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir (all California but truly American)

Hermannhof Winery– Norton, Seyval, Chambourcin and White Lady (semi-dry white)

OakGlenn Winery– Chardonel, Moonbeam Melody and Sweet Caroline

Röbller Winery– Norton, Vidal Blanc, Villa Rouge and White Steuben

Stone Hill Winery – Norton, Chambourcin, Vidal and Pink Catawba
We encourage you to visit your local wineries this holiday season.  You just might find a new favorite wine to share with your family and friends.  How about giving the gift of local wines to your client and staff this year.  Who doesn’t enjoy receiving a bottle of wine as a gift?  Its something everyone can use!
