Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving from the Hermann Wine Trail

Thanksgiving is finally here!  It is a time to be thankful for all the blessings we have in our lives.  We are also looking forward to the delicious feast, the gathering of family and friends and opportunity to share our favorite wines!

This year, why not serve local wines and support your regional wine industry.  Today, there are wineries in every state, and each winery offers unique wines that reflect the diversity of the region.  Many wineries produce traditional varieties and some produce non-traditional varieties that are suited to the growing conditions of their region.  If you’ve not ventured out of your comfort zone, now is a perfect time to experience what your local wineries have to offer.  You won’t be disappointed, since most wineries offer wines for every palate.

If you live in Missouri, there are many choices; robust Norton, earthy Chambourcin, fruity Chardonel, aromatic Traminette, dry or semi-sweet Rose’, luscious Vignoles, and fruity, sweet Catawba.

Of course, the Hermann Wine Trail wineries produce some great examples of these wines.  Here are a few of our favorites:

Adam Puchta Winery –  Dry Rose’, Dry Brut (bubbles are perfect to start the day on Thanksgiving…) and Vignoles.

Bias Winery and Gruhlke’s Microbrewery– Norton, Norma’s Best, and Raspberry Weisser Flieder.

Dierberg Star Lane -Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir (all California but truly

American)

Hermannhof Winery– Seyval, Chambourcin and Traminette

OakGlenn Winery– Chardonel, Moonbeam Melody and Sweet Caroline

Röbller Winery– Vidal Blanc, Villa Rouge and White Steuben

Stone Hill Winery – Chambourcin, Vidal and Pink Catawba
We encourage you to visit your local wineries this holiday season.  You just might find a new favorite wine to share with your family and friends.  How about giving the gift of local wines to your clients, staff, family and friends this year.  Who doesn’t enjoy receiving a bottle of wine as a gift?  Its something everyone can use!

Enjoy your Thanksgiving meal and raise a glass of local wine to toast all that is good!
